Exactly what personal information The Demandverse collects, why, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the rights you have.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information The Demandverse collects when you read our website, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us; why we collect it; how long we keep it; who we share it with; and the choices and rights you have. We have written it to be precise and plain. If anything is unclear, email us.
The short version: you can read everything on this website without giving us any personal information. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your personal information. If you subscribe, we keep your email address only to send you the newsletter, until you unsubscribe.
1. Who we are
The Demandverse (thedemandverse.com) is a publication owned and operated by Demand Kings Media Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated in India, with its office at Camp, Pune - 411001, Maharashtra, India ("we", "us", "our"). For any question about this policy or your personal information, email Sherlyn@thedemandverse.com or call +91 7057867883.
For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the "controller" of your personal data. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we are the "business". For the purposes of India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we are the "data fiduciary".
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to thedemandverse.com, its pages and feeds, our email newsletter, and any correspondence you send us. It does not apply to other websites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
3. The information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Newsletter sign-up. Your email address and the date and time you subscribed. Nothing else is required.
- Messages you send us. When you email us (for example with a correction, tip, enquiry or privacy request), we receive your name and email address as they appear in your email, the content of your message, and anything you choose to attach.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server automatically records technical information about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, the referring page, your browser and device type (the "user agent") and the response status. We use these logs only to deliver the website, keep it secure, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. We do not use them to build profiles of readers.
- Information stored on your own device. Our website saves two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your chosen colour theme (light or dark) and the list of articles you have saved for later. This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy.
3.3 Information we do not collect
We do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive personal information (such as health information, financial account details, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious or political views, or biometric data). We do not use analytics tools, advertising networks, social-media tracking pixels or fingerprinting. Our pages, fonts and images are served from our own server, so reading an article does not send your information to third-party trackers.
4. How we use your information, and our legal bases
| Purpose | Information used | Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Sending you the newsletter you asked for | Email address, sign-up date | Your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing. |
| Keeping a record that you subscribed and of any unsubscribe request, so we can honour it | Email address, dates | Legal obligation and legitimate interests in demonstrating compliance (Article 6(1)(c) and (f)) |
| Replying to your messages, handling corrections and privacy requests | Name, email address, message content | Legitimate interests in responding to readers (Article 6(1)(f)); legal obligation for privacy requests (Article 6(1)(c)) |
| Delivering the website, keeping it secure, preventing spam and abuse | Server logs | Legitimate interests in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)) |
| Remembering your theme and saved articles | Preferences stored only on your device | Strictly necessary to provide the feature you requested; no personal data reaches us |
| Complying with the law, enforcing our terms, and defending legal claims | Any of the above, only as needed | Legal obligation and legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(c) and (f)) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your rights, and you can object at any time (see section 9). We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not profile you.
5. Our newsletter
We only send the newsletter to people who sign up for it. Every email identifies The Demandverse as the sender, includes our postal address and contains a working unsubscribe link. We act on unsubscribe requests promptly and always within 10 business days. We will never sell, rent or trade your email address. Our practices are described in detail on our CAN-SPAM compliance page.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We disclose personal information only to:
- Service providers who work on our behalf. Our web hosting provider (which stores the website, server logs and the newsletter list) and, when we send newsletters, our email delivery provider. They may process your information only on our instructions, under written contracts that require them to protect it and forbid them from using it for their own purposes.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where necessary and under a duty of confidentiality.
- Authorities, where we are required by law, court order or other legal process, or where disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our readers, us or others.
- A successor organisation, if The Demandverse is sold, merged or reorganised. Any successor will be bound by this policy for the information it receives, and we will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
7. International transfers
We are based in India, and our website is hosted on servers located in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, your personal data will therefore be transferred to countries that may not provide the same level of protection as your own. Where we transfer such data, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable), or on another lawful transfer mechanism, together with additional safeguards where needed. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing Sherlyn@thedemandverse.com.
8. How long we keep your information
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Newsletter email address | Until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only a record of the address and the unsubscribe date for as long as needed to make sure we never email you again. |
| Emails and correspondence | Up to 2 years after the matter is closed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer |
| Records of privacy requests | 24 months, as required by law |
| Server logs | Up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a specific security incident |
| Theme and saved articles | On your device only, until you clear your browser's storage |
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. We extend them to every reader, wherever you are.
- Access: ask whether we hold personal information about you and receive a copy of it.
- Correction: ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Deletion: ask us to delete your information.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your information.
- Portability: receive the information you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to our use of your information based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent: unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew consent.
- Opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still ask us to confirm this.
- Non-discrimination: we will never treat you differently for exercising your rights.
- Complain: you can complain to a data protection authority, such as the authority in the EU country where you live or work, the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or the Data Protection Board of India. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
Region-specific details are on our GDPR and CCPA pages.
10. How to exercise your rights
Email Sherlyn@thedemandverse.com and tell us which right you want to exercise. To protect you, we will verify your request by confirming that you control the email address concerned; we will not ask for more information than we need. You may use an authorised agent; we will ask for proof of their authority. We respond within one month (GDPR), 45 days (CCPA) or any shorter period the law requires. Where the law allows, we may extend this period once if a request is complex, and we will tell you why. Requests are free of charge unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
11. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because we do not sell, share or track readers across websites, our website behaves the same whether or not your browser sends GPC or a "Do Not Track" signal.
12. How we protect your information
We use HTTPS encryption on every page, restrict access to personal information to the people who need it, store the newsletter list in a protected location that cannot be reached from the web, protect administrative access with strong authentication and rate limiting, and keep our software up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires.
13. Children
Our website is written for professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 (or under 18 in India). If you believe a child has given us personal information, email Sherlyn@thedemandverse.com and we will delete it.
14. Links to other websites
Our articles link to sources and other websites. When you follow a link, the other website's privacy policy applies, not ours. We are not responsible for how other websites handle your information.
15. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices or the law change. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, such as using your information for a new purpose, we will tell newsletter subscribers by email before the change takes effect and, where required, ask for your consent.
